The Yankee bats could not be silenced. Nick Swisher returned to Camden Yards, a place he has become quite accustomed to, looking to cause more havoc. He hit a go-ahead 2 run homer in the 1st inning to give the Yanks an early 2-0 lead. Phil Hughes pitched 6 innings, giving up 9 hits, 3 runs and getting only 4 strike outs. It wasn't his best start this year. Curtis Granderson had a monster grand slam later in the game, followed by a Mark Teixeira home run to bury the O's. However, the Orioles got the best of the Yankees bullpen, scoring 4 more runs after Hughes departed. Nonetheless, the Yankees were able to hold on for the win.

What an amazing game. This game was a pitcher's duel all game, as Mike Pelfrey of the Mets battled Clayton Richard of the Padres. Richard went 7 innings, giving up 1 hit, 1 run, 1 BB and 6 strike outs. Pelfrey, however, went 9 innings, giving up 5 hits, 1 run, 0 BB and 6 strike outs. Can you say total domination? This year Pelfrey has truly established himself as the #2 or even the ace on the Mets pitching staff with a record of 8-1 and a 2.23 ERA! With the game tied at 1-1 due to Jose Reyes' clutch 7th inning homer, the game went into extras. That's when Ike Davis decided to play the role of hero and sent a monster shot into the third deck at Citi Field giving the Mets a walk-off win.
