Mets scoreless streak halted at 36.2 innings

Brewers - 2 (20-28), Mets - 0 (25-24)
W - Yovani Gallardo (5-2)
L - Ryota Igarashi (0-1)
HR: (MIL) Corey Hart (10, 2-runs)

And the streak is over. After shutting out the Phillies in 3 games during the week, the Mets entered today's game with 27 scoreless innings. Going into the 9th inning, it looked like it would continue. After a beautifully pitched game by ace Johan Santana, as well as Brewers ace Yovani Gallardo, the Mets brought in Pedro Feliciano and Ryota Igarashi to send the game to extra frames. However, it would not be so. With Ryan Braun on base, and 2 out in the 9th, Igarashi served up a 2-run home run to Corey Hart, giving the Brewers the walk-off win. Even though the Mets lost, 36.2 scoreless innings is quiet a feat and they deserve to be applauded.

Biggest Hit:
Corey Hart's home run

The two face off again tomorrow at 7:10 PM EST, as the Mets send Fernando Nieve to the mound to face Manny Parra.
