Yankees get 2-for-1, win 2 games in 1 day.

GAME 1 (continuation of last night's suspended game)
Yankees - 1 (27-18), Twins - 0 (26-19)
W - AJ Burnett (5-2)
L - Brian Duensing (2-1)
SV - Mariano Rivera (9)
HR: (NYY) Derek Jeter (5)
Two batters into the continuation of last night's game and it was over. The game restarted in the 5th inning and the second batter to come up was Derek Jeter. Jeter smacked a solo homer 399 ft into left center to give the Yankees a lead they would keep. Great pitching by both sides in this game. And even more, it would carry on to the nightcap game...

GAME 2
Yankees - 3 (28-18), Twins - 2 (26-20)
W - Andy Pettitte (6-1)
L - Jon Rauch (1-1)
SV - Mariano Rivera (10)
HR: (NYY) Nick Swisher (8)
What a thriller. After a great win in the day game, the Yanks capped the day off with another win. Andy Pettitte pitched amazingly to his 6th win of the year, holding the score at 2-2 and pitched a full 8 innings. However, this game was decided in the 9th. With 2 outs, and fans looking ahead to extra innings, Nick Swisher smashed (and I mean smashed) a solo shot to right field. Luckily, it was enough to keep the Yanks ahead and open the door for the Sandman. Other big hits in this game were a triple from Brett Gardner and a double by the rookie Kevin Russo.

The final game in the series takes place tomorrow at 8 PM EST, as the Yanks eye a sweep and send Javier Vazquez, coming off a great start against the Mets last weekend, against the Twins Nick Blackburn.
